Why do people stop?

When the first of the year begins, people start to make a set of goals to hit by the end of the year. But we tend to stop about 1-3 months after setting that goal.

The way that I see it is that we set these goals with the wrong intentions or we do not go deep enough into the “why” of the goal. This meaning that we say we want to lose weight, but WHY do we want to lose weight. Sometimes people say that they want to look like “insert famous person” or to be comfortable. But what do those things mean to them?

So we need to understand why we are setting these goals and remind ourselves throughout the year so that we can keep ourselves motivated and determined

But we must come from the right place when we set these “why’s” behind the goals. I have recently come across a great analogy about intentions.

So when we think about luxury or high end items such as Gucci, Ferrari and all the top name brands, some people purchase these items to impress people because they want approval from their community. But these are not the best intentions to have.

On the other hand, when you purchase these items because you have earned it and you want to enjoy the luxury of the items, then you get to truly enjoy the fruits of your labor.

So when we have the right intentions that align with our why and our goal, you have that much more motivation and determination throughout the year so that we can work towards our goal.
